Hello, my name is K. Vanessa Chavez and I'm happy to return to Fort Thomas as the School Counselor. I had previously taught Physical Science and coached volleyball, basketball, and softball.
I'm looking forward to building rapport with students and staff. I believe Fort Thomas schools has some of the best people who help students, and I look forward to being a contributing team player.
I have over twenty years of experience as an educator and I'm fully committed to working at Fort Thomas Schools.
I hope everyone has a good rest of their summer and I look forward to meeting each student and staff when school is back in session.


FTHS: Parents, the first day of school is quickly approaching. If you have not registered your student please do ASAP, school starts August 3rd. To register your student please go to powerschool: https://thefort.powerschool.com/public/ and log in to your account. Your log in information should be the same as last school year. If you need to reset your info or need help, please call the school.
All JH & HS students who are planning on participating in athletics, must have completed online school registration, turned in a completed physical form packet and paid for an activity card before practice starts. Activity cards are $25 (Sept 1st price will be $30)
HS Football practice will start July 25th. HS Volleyball & Cross Country practice will start August 8th. Practice times and information will be posted soon.
JH Practice will start the second week of school.
*Activity Cards can also be purchased for Elementary students for $20. (Sept 1st price will be $30)
FTHS: Automotive Instructor & Transportation Director Eddie Bowman retired in May after 46 years at Fort Thomas High School. We wish him the best of luck in retirement and thank you for your many years of service! We are happy to introduce our new Automotive Instructor and FTHS Alumni, Garrett McEuen!
Hi. My name is Garrett McEuen and I am the new Automotive Instructor here at FTHS. I attended Ft Thomas schools from kindergarten thru graduation. I took 3 years of auto, was a certified Polaris mechanic and took auto body and paint classes at EAC. I was an officer with AZ DPS for 12 years where I obtained a general instructor certificate and taught defensive tactics. I worked for Graham County Electric Coop for 4 years before getting hired on at the school.

FTHS: After many years of hard work, our HS History Teacher, Mrs. Radley retired in May. We wish her the best of luck in retirement and we are excited to introduce our new HS History Teacher, Mrs. Alyssa Vincent!
My name is Alyssa Vincent. I am an Alumni of Fort Thomas High School, I graduated in 2004. Although I have worked in the district previously as a secretary, paraprofessional in the Sped Department and the volleyball coach, this will be my first year as a Teacher, teaching History. I have 2 Associate degrees from Eastern Arizona College, Business and General Studies. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree at Arizona State University, for Secondary Education in History.
I am married and I have 2 daughters. I enjoy traveling, camping, volleyball and spending time with my family. Some words of wisdom "Never stop learning because life never stops teaching." I also believe that you should travel as much as you can, learn new things, taste new food and buy the shoes!
I am looking forward to an exciting school year!
FTHS: HS Volleyball open gym will start Tuesday July 14th and will be every Tuesday and Thursday for the month of July, from 4:30 - 6:00 pm. Transportation will not be provided.

My name is Eduardo (Eddy) Carlton. I have been in education for 22 years, starting as a bus driver, classroom teacher, principal, and now back in the classroom as 7th & 8th grade Reading teacher. My wife, Rhiannon, and I have been married nearly 23 years and we have have five children. 4 boys and 1 daughter. I graduated from McClintock High School in Tempe. I received my Bachelor’s degree from ASU and my Master’s degree from NAU. We have lived in the Gila Valley for nearly 20 years. In addition to teaching this year, I will be coaching football and baseball.
I love Harry Potter and any Military/action/spy book. I look forward to working with the junior high kids of Ft. Thomas high school.


The weight room will be open at 3:30 today for any FTHS student athletes to come work out.

FTHS: Open Weight room starts on Monday!

FTHS: The student council recently received governing board approval to name the auto shop after Automotive Instructor Eddie Bowman and on April 27th an assembly was held to do just that. In addition, Eddie also was awarded the Safford Rotary Teacher of Distinction for FTHS.
Eddie attended Fort Thomas schools from Kindergarten thu 12th grade, graduating in 1971. After graduation he attended Eastern Arizona College and Northern Arizona University. In 1976, Eddie started teaching automotive classes here at FTHS. For the past 46 years Eddie has diligently kept not only buses and school vehicles running but also many in the community.
Thank you Eddie, for your many years of dedication and hard work and enjoy retirement.

FTHS: Shout out to alumni, Kyia Haws. She is currently attending Lake Land College and is a member of the softball team who are Conference Champs. She is headed to the NJCAA National Softball Tournament May 24-28 in Yuma, AZ. Good luck Kyia!

FTHS: Sports Physicals are today at FTHS. If your student is participation in JH or HS sports next year, they need a physical and a completed physical packet. Today is the only day to get a physical at the HS. If your student does not get a physical here at the HS today, please schedule a physical with your primary care doctor.

FTHS: This week members of the HS Girls Basketball team attended Love of Reading week at Fort Thomas Elementary and read books to different classes. Thank you FTE for inviting our team!
FTHS: The Miss Indian Fort Thomas Pageant sponsored by the NACC club was held last night May 9th. All three contestants, Andryana Talgo, Veronica Bonilla and Adaia Lorenzo did an outstanding job. The newly crowned Miss Indian Fort Thomas for the 2022-2023 school year is Veronica Bonilla! Congratulations to all three amazing young ladies!
